The White House Allegedly Has A Marijuana Smear Squad. Cannabis Experts Say Bring It On

The White House Allegedly Has A Marijuana Smear Squad. Cannabis Experts Say Bring It On

The Trump administration has supposedly assembled a team of federal agency leaders for the purpose of promoting negative views on U.S. cannabis legalization. Cannabis industry members and advocates say the effort would be deeply misguided, and ultimately too late. On Wednesday, BuzzFeed News reported that the White House has “secretly amassed” a committee of federal agencies meant to “combat public support for marijuana and cast state legalization measures in a negative light” while also “attempting to portray the drug as a national threat,” based on interviews and documents acquired by BuzzFeed.
According to the report, the White House’s so-called Marijuana Policy Coordination Committee instructed leaders at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and 14 other federal agencies last month to submit data “demonstrating the most significant negative trends” in cannabis use and legalization efforts.
Lindsay Walters, Deputy White House Press Secretary, commented to BuzzFeed News, “The Trump Administration’s policy coordination process is an internal, deliberative process to craft the President’s policies on a number of important issues facing the American people, and ensure consistency with the President’s agenda.”

Research exploring the effects of THC, CBD, and more than 100 other active cannabinoid chemicals found in cannabis, as well as the impacts of state and federal legalization programs, has skyrocketed in recent years, giving regulators plenty of data to keep up on.
Among other things, numerous studies have drawn attention to some potentially negative impacts that the under-regulated use and sale of high-potency marijuana products can have for individual users and communities at large .
Overall, however, research to date on legal cannabis’ potential impacts on federal and state-level healthcare, criminal justice, and economic growth has overwhelmingly suggested that the potential benefits of legalization outweigh the perceived advantages to maintaining prohibition.
In light of this, the White House’s anti-weed committee reportedly complained in one memo that “the narrative around marijuana is unfairly biased in favor of the drug,” as BuzzFeed News put it.

In response to BuzzFeed’s report, cannabis industry members and legalization advocates have similarly pointed out that the data in support of cannabis legalization can speak for itself at this stage.
Justin Strekal, Political Director for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), described the White House’s latest efforts to malign legalization as “the death rattles of marijuana prohibition.”
Strekal commented in an emailed statement, “Those who seek to maintain the oppressive policies of cannabis criminalization are grasping at straws in their effort to undo the public policy progresses that have now been enacted in a majority of states, and that are widely supported by voters of both major political parties.” He also noted,
In an era where 31 states now regulate marijuana sales and where more six out of ten voters endorse legalizing the plant’s use by adults, it makes no sense from a political, fiscal, or cultural perspective to try to put this genie back in the bottle. It is high time that members of Congress take action to deschedule marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act and comport federal law with majority public opinion and the plant’s rapidly changing legal and cultural status.

And while federal cannabis legalization in the next few years seems all but inevitable at this point, groups say they plan to keep working to ensure Americans are factually well-informed.
Aaron Smith, executive director of the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), also commented, “The directives given to this committee are biased, unscientific, and fly in the face of statements made by the President during his campaign and up to the present that he supports allowing states to determine their own marijuana policies without federal interference.”
“This is an unfortunate example of staff within the administration exaggerating potential negatives associated with legalization while ignoring the clear benefits of regulation, and discounting the harms caused by the outdated policies of prohibition,” Smith said in an emailed statement. “We are confident that the available data, when viewed objectively, clearly shows that regulating cannabis works.”
Michael Collins , Interim Director of the Drug Policy Alliance’s (DPA) Office of National Affairs, commented by email, “To [hear that] this White House — that cannot even coordinate an adequate response to the overdose crisis — [wastes] so much time on discussions on how to push anti-marijuana legalization propaganda is mind-boggling, and underscores this Administration’s ineptitude on drug policy.”

According to BuzzFeed, “None of the documents indicate that officials are seeking data that show marijuana consumption or legalization laws, which have been approved in eight states, serve any public benefit or do a better job of reducing drug abuse.”
Thanks to ongoing and decades-long efforts by researchers and patient advocates, however, such data are virtually all around us nowadays, including — whether they seek to acknowledge it or not — right in front of lawmakers’ noses.

For Tips And Tips On The Vitamins You Need, Read This

Are you confused about maintaining good health? Are you not feeling great and want to make yourself feel better again? If so, you need to read the article below. It has vitamin and mineral tips that can make you feel a whole lot better.

Many of us notice our body starting to ache and not understanding why. Rather than seeking medical care, increase your mineral and vitamin intake. For example, fish oil and vitamin E can help your sore muscles.

You can find vitamin B2 in green beans, popcorn, dairy products and bananas. Symptoms of a B2 deficiency can come about in the way of scaly skin and a demonstrable decrease in red blood cells. This nutrient has been proven as helpful with cancer prevention, anemia, cataracts and carpal tunnel syndrome.

To reduce the chances of heart disease, boost your vision and keep your skin from aging prematurely, try vitamin A. Don’t go over the daily recommendations for dose, though. A great way to get vitamin A would be through squash, carrots, and dark leafy greens.

Coenzyme Q-10 is used to treat heart and vessel conditions, including angina, congestive heart failure, diabetes, gum disease and high blood pressure. This potent formula strengthens immune systems and increases energy. Patients can get the substance naturally in seafood and meat; however, most prefer to take a Coenzyme Q-10 supplement.

Take your vitamins in the way that’s right for you. While the best way to get vitamins and minerals is through food, you may have to take a supplement. If you struggle swallowing pills, you could find smaller or chewable pills to take. You can also use the powders that mix with water.

Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that is found in wheat germ, eggs, poultry and vegetable oils. Vitamin E can be used to treat cardiovascular issues, including chest pain, high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries. It can also help prevent certain types of cancers. The easiest way to ensure you receive the nutrients you need is to take a vitamin E supplement.

Folic acid prevents birth defects, certain cancers, stroke and heart disease. This B vitamin is added to flour, cold cereal and pasta. Additionally, many leafy vegetables, melons, beans and meats contain folic acid. Folic acid is used to treat Alzheimer’s, macular degeneration, RLS, neuropathy, osteoporosis and other signs of aging.

To give your immune system a boost, consider taking Ginseg. Ginseng can help your body to regulate its hormones. This will help influence your insulin production, blood pressure, and metabolism. As a result, you will also find yourself thinking more clearly and having more energy to get through your day.

Are you getting enough manganese? It is known to aide in the healing process when we have cuts as well as building bone strength. It will also improve your cholesterol levels on a daily basis. Almonds, black and green tea, beans, and whole grains all have it. You can also get supplements if you want an easy way of getting the nutrient in your system.

When you feel sick, you can feel really down. We’ve collected some expert advice for you to help you out of your slump. Even if you see some that don;t apply to your conditions, your basic knowledge can help you keep reading and learning more about the ones you do need. This information should help!

Bringing Fall Into Your Sessions & Classes

Bringing Fall Into Your Music Therapy Sessions & Classes

Pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, apple picking, the crisp air and the crunchy leaves……yup, I’m dreaming of fall! Here in New England I can already feel the season changing, which means fall is coming soon and it’s time to prepare some goal-oriented fall-themed songs.

The three songs I’m highlighting today are so diverse; they’re all centered around the theme of fall while each targeting different goals.

Some of the goals addressed in these songs:

  •     Improve auditory discrimination
  •     Improve impulse control
  •     Increase ability to count to five
  •     Increase ability to add and subtract
  •     Improve color identification
  •     Improve fine and gross motor skills

“The Leaves on the Trees” is a kinesthetic learning experience perfect for autumn. We all know how it goes: those leaves fall pretty slowly at first and gradually they fall faster and at a higher volume. Eventually the leaves taper off and finally stop falling, and that’s exactly how the song goes! It starts off nice and slow, gradually speeds up, and then slows down before coming to an end.

The Leaves on the Trees Album Cover

With a song like “The Leaves on the Trees”, childen are challenged to listen and maintain their focus on the music. This song can be used with instruments, which presents an opportunity for choice making and requesting, or the lyrics can be paired with movements. Motions can mimic leaves falling and trees swaying in the breeze, and even better, children can brainstorm and create their own movements.

“Little Red Apples” is a fun and catchy song that addresses simple math skills. I created cute red apple visuals for my clients that have different facial expressions on them, similar to these:

I can use the visuals to request that my students pick up one “apple”, a specific “apple” (i.e. “pick up the grumpy one, crunch crunch crunch!”), or have the student select one and then tell me what the apple’s facial expression shows (i.e. “is the apple sad or happy?”).

Little Red Apples Album Cover

When a child has mastered counting the apples, I’ll mix things up and add one or two apples back into the mix, or even take a few extras away. Some children may be able to add or subtract without counting the individual apple visuals, but fortunately, we can always assist our students and even pair their counting with appropriate musical cues, such as not returning to the tonic chord until our client has correctly counted all of the apples!

“Fall Colors” has to be one of my favorite Listen & Learn songs ever because it is so calming and beautiful. It details all the colors of fall, such as red, green, brown, orange, and yellow. This song can be used with colored scarves or silk leaves.

Fall Colors Album Cover

My favorite adaptation for this song is to make a big pile of scarves and call out or rewrite a lyric to be all about one color (i.e. “red is the color to be found”). My students will have to look into the pile and even occasionally dig around to find the color detailed in the verse. To make it even more challenging, I will display a visual of the color and let the clients sing the color they see and then find it in the pile.

These three songs will infuse your session with reminders of fall while also maintaining the most important part of any early childhood music experience: learning and growing! Let me know in the comments below: What are some ways you’ll be bringing fall into your classes and sessions?

You can listen to all of these songs in their entirety right here. Lyrics, chords, mp3, and instrumental track for these original songs are available for download. As is the case for all Listen & Learn Music creations, we invite you to adapt this song as needed to best serve your students and/or clients.

Learn How to Sing – Basic Lessons for Beginners & Range Exercises – Carnatic Vocal – S. Sowmya

Carnatic music has a very ancient and traditional background. The very word “Carnatic” means traditional or ancient. However, the application of the term Carnatic to this form of music is more recent than the music itself! Here we discuss the elements of change and continuity in this traditional form of classical music in India. Carnatic music is a melody-based system. Melody in the context of Carnatic music may be explained as, “The production of any musical tone or succession of such tones or semitones, with definite frequencies, within certain parameters, whether rendered independently or in conjunction with rhythm and / or Iyrics”. Rhythm can be defined as a process in which the nuclei of attention are separated by individual parts of time. In Carnatic music, the other important and unique feature is the prosody (Iyrics), Known as Sahitya. The Sahitya has always been the effective means to communicate man’s moods. Some of the key term you will come across when dealing with Carnatic music are: Raga, Tala, Kriti, Varnam, Padam, Javali, Tillana, Alapana, Tanam, Neraval, Kalpanaswara and Tani Avartanam.

In today’s online climate, the name of the game is audience interaction. Long gone are the days when a website was a novelty and if you built one, people would eventually find you. Now you have to work hard to build your community and relationships with your members, all while fostering and encouraging people to engage with you. It’s not something you can be passive about. If you want the relationships and the community, you must do the work. Of course, I wouldn’t tell you this unless I had some suggestions on how you can do just that. So here

Tips For Getting The Vitamins You Need

Most people have heard about vitamins and minerals. These things have been used to promote food for years, but what does it mean for your body? Understanding the value and importance of vitamins is essential to the management of your body. Take the time to read ahead and you will gain some valuable knowledge about vitamins.

If you want the most from your workout and the body you desire, remember to take your vitamins. You’ll recover faster, nourish your muscles, and burn more fat.

Never ignore the product warnings on vitamin levels. Vitamin and supplements can have serious side effects when taken with prescription and over the counter medicines. Ginseng can be very dangerous if you have high blood pressure or take heart medications. Lycopene can be deadly if you have a tomato allergy. Always read the warning labels or ask your pharmacist or doctor before taking any vitamins or supplements.

The best source of vitamins and minerals are fresh fruit and vegetables. Making sure that you eat at least five servings of vegetables and fruit every day can help ensure you get all of the vitamins and minerals you need to be healthy. For the best results, eat them raw or very lightly cooked by steaming or poaching.

Do not use tea or coffee to wash down your vitamins and minerals. These beverages may inhibit the absorption of certain minerals. Tea has been proven to decrease the amount of iron the body absorbs. While coffee has not been shown to have the same effects, it would be best not to take any chances.

If you are planning on taking any vitamins and minerals, you should try to schedule them around mealtimes. When you eat and digest your food, stomach acid is produced. This can help break down any vitamins you are consuming, which means that they will be a lot more effective.

Try adding more magnesium, Omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D to your diet if you are feeling sad. A deficiency in any of these may actually lead to depression. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to support brain health, while magnesium can help your body and mind calm down and relax.

Make sure you get enough of certain vitamins and minerals in your diet. For multivitamins, you should try to get 100% of the listed recommended daily allowance. By taking the maximum amount, you can make sure you get enough of the required vitamins and minerals in your diet to sustain good health.

One of the biggest issues facing children today is a lack of vitamins and minerals in their diets. We often grab a box meal and see that they claim it’s healthy when the truth is the bad ingredients often outweigh the good. Ensure that you are supplementing your child’s diet with all of the major vitamins and minerals.

Though you may think that vitamins and minerals are just about food, you would be wrong. This article has shown you that vitamins and minerals play an essential part in your body’s health. Use what you learned here to make these important supplements a part of your life and daily routine.

Rule changes to affect black immigrants

Rule changes to affect black immigrants

• August 28, 2018 Phiwa Nkosi, a “Dreamer,” is afraid that if proposed changes go through, her son’s Medicaid could be used against her when she applies for permanent status. (Photo by David “Dee” Delgado for Yahoo News) More When Phiwa Nkosi gave birth to her son nine years ago, she was handed a packet of forms to fill out the day she was discharged from Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. A social worker had compiled the paperwork to apply for food stamps and the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program (WIC) and encouraged her to sign up for government benefits. “It would’ve been great if I was able to say, ‘You know what? For the next couple of months, I won’t be working and [my expenses] would be paid by this,” said Nkosi (not her real name), 31, a South African-born DACA recipient. Before becoming a mother, she was a college student working multiple jobs to pay her way through school. “Instead, my fiancé worked and we had a bit of a struggle. But we did it on our own,” she said. “We just bit that bullet because I didn’t want anything to do with the welfare system. It’s a negative thing for immigrants should you have the opportunity to change your [immigration] status in the future.” The negative impact Nkosi refers to is the “public charge rule,” which requires officials to take into account whether an immigrant is “primarily dependent on the government for subsistence” in considering an application for adjustment to permanent resident status. It rarely leads to deportation, but it puts legal immigrants’ future status in limbo, and many choose to forgo benefits that could help them meet their needs. And the rules are about to change, in a way that will discourage even more immigrants from using benefits. And black immigrants like Nkosi may be especially disadvantaged because they face the additional burden of the racially charged association of blacks with welfare. “There’s already that narrative that’s been pushed for years about people of color, that they are ‘welfare queens,’” said Nkosi. “Now public charge is going to be seen like we only want to come here and live off of [taxpayers].” Nkosi refused public assistance for herself, but felt she had no choice in getting Medicaid for her son. “I’ve been working and paying taxes,” said Nkosi, now a digital communications consultant running her own marketing and research firm. “I’ve never had welfare. I’ve never had cash from the government. But the only thing is that my child, for his health, needs to have health insurance. You can’t just have your child walking around without health insurance.” The public charge rule takes into account an immigrant’s use or likelihood to use cash assistance like Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and public assistance for long-term institutional care. Medicaid (other than for long-term care) hasn’t been considered, which is why Nkosi was comfortable enrolling her son. Photo by David “Dee” Delgado for Yahoo News More A draft of revisions to the rule proposed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and currently in review by the White House Office of Management and Budget, would cover a much wider range of benefits used by legal immigrants seeking lawful permanent resident (LPR) status. The scope of benefits would now include noncash benefits, like Medicaid for any purpose and other health, nutrition and noncash benefits like the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), health care under the Affordable Care Act and even early education programs like Head Start. In an email, a DHS official called noncitizen public benefit usage deeply unfair to U.S. taxpayers, adding that nearly 3 in 4 voters support requiring newcomers to be financially self-sufficient and not dependent on a public benefit. The finalized draft of the proposed public charge rule is yet to be posted to the Federal Register, but leaked versions have left immigrants like Nkosi afraid that enrolling themselves and their children in federal public programs will have an adverse effect on their chances of getting a green card, let alone citizenship. “The rule will affect Black immigrants differently than it would affect other immigrants,” Patrice Lawrence, national policy and advocacy director at the UndocuBlack Network , told Yahoo News. “They are already scared, whether they’re [undocumented] or not, that taking these services will mean that the government will look down on them.” Photo by David “Dee” Delgado for Yahoo News More Lawrence and other lawyers and immigration advocates interviewed by Yahoo News regard the proposed changes to the public charge rule as a way to discourage immigrants from coming to the U.S. in the first place, or seeking permanent status. “Since word of this draft memo has leaked out, there’s been a lot of panic among our clients,” said Leena Khandwala, supervising attorney of the Immigration Law Unit at the Legal Aid Society. “We’ve heard of people disenrolling their children from Head Start programs, people calling us and trying to decide between continuing to receive Medicaid, which is necessary to take care of their health, or thinking about whether they’d be eligible for permanent resident status. We see so many clients who are facing an extreme Hobson’s choice: Do I take care of my immediate needs, my health, my kids’ enrollment in school, things like that, or do I worry about my ability to remain in this country in the long term?” Nkosi had long since made the tough choice for herself. “I’ve known for years that if you are someone using public assistance, like welfare, food stamps and monetary support from the government, you are likely to have an unfavorable decision when you try to change your immigration status,” she said. “I don’t have insurance. I avoided Medicaid for myself. I would rather go to public clinics when I need to and pay out of pocket. I chose that route to avoid this exact situation.” Seventy-four percent of immigrants’ U.S.-born children are covered by Medicaid. And now if, according to drafts, the public charge rule considers an immigrant’s dependent family members, including citizen children, their application for status adjustment could be affected. “It feels like if I want to adjust my status now, while trying to make sure that my child has access to proper health care, means I’ll be penalized for that,” said Nkosi. “Although my child is entitled to those benefits as an American and although I paid taxes for other people’s children to have that benefit, I cannot have that for my child?” Some say yes, but no. “Paying taxes itself isn’t sufficient,” said Andrew Arthur, resident fellow in law and policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for limits on immigration. “They are paying taxes, and that’s fine. But you also shouldn’t be dependent on the state for the care of either yourself or your dependents.” Arthur continued: “You would expect that the adult would be able to provide for the child. If you can’t care for your children, the vast majority, the public, would say you’re a public charge because you’re not actually providing for your child. The proposal, in the way that it’s drafted, aligns immigration policy with the public perception of who is a public charge.” This perception is what Susan Welber, staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society, said discourages legal immigrants from taking advantage of health care and nutritional support and the earned income tax credit , a consequence that “is a product of discrimination [whereby] people would be made to feel shame for accessing something that they are legally eligible for and is there to help them.” “Many of the in-kind benefits the Trump administration is now suggesting should be part of the public charge calculus, for thousands of families, are work supplements needed to survive working in low-wage jobs ” said Welber. “You can work 40 hours a week and still be living in poverty.” Forty-eight percent of African immigrant-led homes and 51 percent of Caribbean immigrant-led homes receive public benefits, compared with 73 percent of Mexican and Central American-led homes, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. And while public charge is one of many factors considered for someone’s admission into the U.S. or ability to legally stay, the rule is applied on a case by case basis. “We’re talking about where discretion is involved, and that’s what public charge will fall, where [bias] is involved,” said Stephanie Delia, managing attorney at City University of New York’s Citizenship Now Project. “Because there is going to be discretion, black immigrants are going to be affected more negatively based on the countries that are no longer getting, for example, temporary protected status, most of which are black immigrant countries. [This is] based on statements that certain countries are ‘s*** hole countries’ and on overpolicing of black immigrant communities. It all ties together to make it abundantly clear that we live in times that our administration is acting in a manner to punish black immigrants.” Despite a drop in deportation last year, removals spiked for African immigrants, doubling for some countries. “While African and Caribbean people make up such a small part of the immigrant population, they are overrepresented in deportation,” said Allen Orr Jr., a D.C.-based immigration attorney and second vice president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). “The U.S. is not welcoming to immigrants in general. So anything that happens to the general population is exacerbated for people of color.” Within the past year, the Trump administration has moved to end programs and policies protecting black immigrants. Temporary protected status (TPS), which is granted to immigrants from countries affected by natural disasters or war, is being terminated for Haiti (announced November 2017) and Somalia (announced in July), which is also one of the majority-Muslim countries on President Trump’s travel ban list. In March, the Trump administration announced a one-year phaseout of the Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) program, which provided extended legal residency to Liberians who previously had TPS after fleeing a war-torn country. Meanwhile, the future of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which protects immigrants like Nkosi brought to the U.S. illegally as children from deportation, is currently being battled out in federal court. “Black immigrants are at the intersection of TPS, DED, DACA and the Muslim ban,” said Lawrence, who looks to the potential end of these protections as having a “ripple effect” on black immigrant communities. “You’re already targeted for being black in this country,” said Nkosi. “And then on top of that you’re crucified because this country is anti-immigrant.” Photo by David “Dee” Delgado for Yahoo News More While black immigrants feel especially targeted by anti-immigration policies, when it comes to health specifically, Amanda Lugg, advocacy director at African Services Committee, said the changes to public charge are “literally life and death.” “It’s not whether you can get a school lunch or not,” said Lugg, who works primarily with African immigrants. “The fear, the absolute real fear is coming from our HIV positive immigrants. It’s like for everything we fought for about overturning the HIV ban, this is a back door to a reinstatement. It’s not actually like if you have HIV you can’t come to the U.S. But if you can’t support yourself medically, then you can’t come.” There will still be a 30-60-day public comment period once the new rule is posted to the Federal Register. Until then advocates and lawyers are working to keep immigrant communities informed enough to carry on with their lives. “Right now, people are afraid to move forward,” said Orr Jr. “The same thing the zero-tolerance policy did at the border, this is doing for immigrants that are here. It’s a message saying, don’t move forward… because you never know what’s going to happen to you.”

What You Must Know About Vitamins And Minerals

When shopping for food, it’s important to understand what the provided information means to you. Many people do not understand this. This article gives great information to help you get the nutrients your body needs.

If you are lacking in the vitamin department, you should consider changing your diet. While many people take this as a sign that they need to run to the store and buy a supplement, most of the nutrients you need can be found in food. Do a little research in order to figure out what changes need to be made.

Though most people want to eat healthy, they don’t have the money to do so. Vitamins and minerals taken regularly can help your body work the way it’s supposed to in order to better burn the junk food you consume to stay healthier.

Vitamin C is one of the most beneficial vitamins that you can take. It promotes tissue growth, reduces cancer risks, helps with blood cell formation and quickens the healing process. Broccoli, peppers, oranges, tomatoes, and a wide variety of other foods are all rich in vitamin C. You can also take a supplement that contains vitamin C.

Always tell your doctor if you are taking vitamin or mineral supplements when you are prescribed medication. Some prescribed drugs interact with certain vitamins, which can lessen or increase the effectiveness of the drug. This can have negative consequences on your body if you do not inform your doctor of supplements you are taking beforehand.

Are you a woman of childbearing age? If so, you may be low in magnesium. In fact, 60 percent of women or more may be deficient in magnesium. Your best it is to talk to your doctor about having tests done to measure your levels, and if you are low, pick up a supplement.

Be careful when you take supplements. While supplements can be helpful, it is possible to overdose. This occurs when you ingest too many supplements, a practice that is risky. Symptoms of an overdose vary, depending on which vitamin you have taken. However, the consequence is not a good one and can even kill you.

While many people believe that reading food labels is enough, this is not always the case. You know what vitamins can do for your body and how to be sure your body is getting enough of them. Use the information given here to make a change in your life. They will help you to get your health on track and improve your daily life.

( Natural News ) A world-famous doctor who offered her naturopathic services for free was forced to close her clinic after the Philippine equivalent of the FDA went after her and she received a wave of death threats .
Dr. Farrah Agustin-Bunch went to a conventional medical school, but the fact that doctors are encouraged to prescribe treatments to patients that haven’t been scientifically proven to be safe and effective made her uneasy and ultimately pushed her toward naturopathy . Her late father was the famous herbalist sir Antonio Augustin, who established the first natural cancer treatment center in the Philippines in 2000.
She eventually decided to open up her own practice. Her clinic in Victoria, two hours from Manila, was frequented by celebrities, business people and even royalty from the Philippines and beyond. She never charges patients for their visits or exams, believing that everyone has the right to see a doctor at no cost.
Dr. Bunch has successfully treated conditions like lupus, hypertension, diabetes, and other problems. She has even successfully treated stage 4 cancers. In total, she has treated more than 100,000 patients since becoming a doctor. She has also come up with protocols based on clinically and scientifically proven methods that make use of medicinal plants, extracts, herbs, and minerals. Some variations of her immunotherapy treatment are even used at some of America’s biggest cancer treatment centers. Are her successes threatening the profits of more powerful people?
Her impressive treatments probably weren’t well received by the pharmaceutical and medical industries, and she likely drew further ire through her website , which offers up more than 20,000 pages of scientific evidence to inform and educate her patients. In addition to demonstrating the effectiveness and safety of immunotherapy, it also exposes the lack of scientific evidence for conventional treatments like radiation, chemotherapy, and most surgeries. The power of the elements : Discover Colloidal Silver Mouthwash with quality, natural ingredients like Sangre de Drago sap, black walnut hulls, menthol crystals and more. Zero artificial sweeteners, colors or alcohol. Learn more at the Health Ranger Store and help support this news site.
She recently announced to her 3 million Facebook followers that she had to temporarily close her operations after the lives of her patients, children and herself were threatened if she remained open. She stated that several cases were filed against her after government offices and agencies received complaints from unnamed medical societies. She said that her clinic and property were raided, and she has been prohibited from manufacturing health products, administering them to patients, and distributing them. If she continues to help patients right now, she could lose her license to practice medicine and her career as a doctor would come to an end.
After her clinic was closed for allegedly selling supplements that were unauthorized , she said in a video message on Facebook: “I was also told that if my outpatient clinic was still open tomorrow, that I would be arrested and my license to practice medicine would be revoked.”
She said that she’s cooperating with the government agencies and using legal remedies to help fix the situation. She apologized to her patients for the inconvenience and suffering this situation could cause for them and said that she hopes to reopen as soon as possible so she can continue helping people.
A tearful Dr. Bunch added in her video message: “If something bad happens to me, please remember that I fought for my fellow Filipinos to have choices in their healthcare.”
It’s an unfortunate turn of events for the patients who rely on her treatment, but it’s not surprising. Naturopathy, homeopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, and other so-called “alternative” medicine areas have long been under attack by conventional doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and the FDA in the U.S. and countries around the world. As authorities continue to bully trained professionals who are only trying to heal people, medical freedom is slipping away from us and few people are noticing and speaking out about it.

Best Books To Learn Music Theory – Which Music Theory Books Best?

My review of 4 of the best books to learn music theory.

AB Guide To Music Theory Part 1 http://bit.ly/ABGuidePT1US

AB Guide To Music Theory Part 2 http://bit.ly/ABGuidePT2US

Mark Levine’s Jazz Theory Book http://bit.ly/JazzTheoryBookUS

Walter Piston Harmony http://bit.ly/WPHarmonyUS

David Berkman’s Jazz Harmony Book http://bit.ly/DBJazzHarmonyUS

Which music theory books best for you to buy? In I review what I feel are four of the best books to learn music theory that I’ve used to teach all levels from kids, children, beginners, advanced and degree level students throughout my own teaching career.

Everyone studies music theory for different reasons so I’ve decided to look at four books which I feel will serve students of all different levels.

1. The AB Guide To Music Theory Parts 1 and 2

These two books are perfect if you’re new to theory and you need to learn the basics. The explanations are clear and the material is really well presented. If you’ve read these books then you won’t draw a blank the next time someone asks you “hey, what key is this song in?”. It’s crucial reading for any student.

2. Mark Levine’s Jazz Theory Book

This second option is more advanced and I would say better suited to students in degree programs or serious high school students. Jazz theory helps to explain so many areas of contemporary music like pop, soul, R&B to name a few. So understanding how to improvise over changes, how certain scales relate to certain chords and how to reharmonize (all of which you learn in this book) is something you really have to know.

3. Harmony by Walter Piston

If classical music is much more your thing then Harmony by Walter Piston is the book for you. Whilst this does cover some very fundamental things like intervals, key signatures and triads, Harmony also progresses into very advanced territory by the end. For this reason, it’s one of the most complete books I’ve ever read. It also comes with a sister workbook which has exercises for each chapter.

4. David Berkman’s Jazz Harmony Book

This is one of my favourite books. It’s got endorsements from some of the biggest names in jazz but it presents the process of understanding and applying harmony perhaps more clearly than any other book I’ve ever read. My favourite section is the appendix at the back which teaches non-piano players how to voice all the chords and theory you learn as a jazz piano player would. Basic keyboard skills are taught at any serious music school to every student without exception so if you’re a student or even a professional then this is a book you must own!

You Should Not Miss This Essential Advice About Vitamins And Minerals

What does it take to feel great? Do you need to slave away on a treadmill all day? Or must you eat nothing but vegetables at every meal? Relax, as long as you are eating right and getting exercise you are good, but the addition of vitamins and minerals can be just the trick you need.

If you are feeling like you need a bit of a boost you need to increase your vitamin intake. Vitamin C not only aids in fighting off infection, it also gives you additional energy by supplementing what you may be lacking. The main reason we feel less than ideal is that we are deficient in vitamins and minerals.

Two of the best sources for vitamin D are exposure to the sun and milk. If you are not a big milk drinker or do not spend a lot of time in the sun, you should take a supplement with vitamin D. Vitamin D protects your bones and keeps them from becoming brittle.

Supplements are extremely vital these days. You can find these anywhere and they are very beneficial to your health. These nutrients can be replaced in your diet by taking a high quality supplement.

Some vitamins are stored in your body, and others are not. Water-soluable vitamins dissolve in the fluids in your body and are flushed out regularly. These vitamins include B vitamins and vitamin C. Because these vitamins are not stored in your body, it is important to consume these vitamins each day.

If you are a smoker, you should avoid taking any supplements that contain carotene. There have been numerous studies done that show carotene can increase the risk of lung cancer. Since cigarettes can add to this risk, it would be best if you avoided taking carotene if you are planning to continue smoking.

The starting point in any supplement journey is having your doctor test you for specific nutrient deficiencies. Your doctor will be able to suggest the correct supplements.

Before you begin taking any supplements at all, you need to talk to your doctor about being tested for nutrient deficiencies. If you don’t do this first, you may be missing out on the key issues which are causing you to feel less than great. Get this done and then buy your supplements.

Glucosamine treats a variety of joint pain issues. This supplement is made from seashells and shark cartilage. Patients have reported glucosamine supplements help relieve knee pain, back pain, glaucoma and the pain associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis; however, there is not sufficient medical evidence to support these claims.

So now that you know how to change your life for the better, pick up some vitamins and minerals. Each time you confront your health issues, you’ll be taking steps towards feeling amazing. As you read more on the topic, your expertise will increase, so don’t stop with this article!

Amazon employees on food stamps – Business Insider

Amazon employees on food stamps – Business Insider

0m
AP/Alex Brandon Amazon is one of the top employers of those who receive SNAP benefits, otherwise known as food stamps, in at least five states. Nearly one in three Amazon employees in Arizona and 1 in 10 in Ohio were on food stamps or lived with someone who was in 2017, according to data obtained by nonprofit New Food Economy from state governments. In Pennsylvania, one in 10 Amazon employees were on food stamps. Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont, a prominent critic of Amazon, has announced plans to introduce legislation that would tax companies when their employees are on government assistance.
A number of Amazon employees in at least five states are on food stamps, or the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
That’s according to data obtained by nonprofit New Food Economy from state governments in the US. New Food was able to get data from five states: Arizona, Kansas, Ohio, Washington, and Pennsylvania.
The New Food Economy reports nearly one in three Amazon employees — 1,800 people — in Arizona were on food stamps or lived with someone who was in 2017. In Pennsylvania, one in 10 Amazon employees — more than 1,000 — were on food stamps.
A separate study by Policy Matters Ohio published in January found that 700 Amazon workers in the state received food stamp benefits.
That means that about 10% of all Amazon’s employees in the state are in the program. It also means that Amazon has quickly risen in the rankings of the biggest employers with workers on SNAP, joining large corporations like Walmart and McDonald’s.
A spokesperson told the Washington Post that the numbers were “misleading because they include people who only worked for Amazon for a short period of time and/or who chose to work part-time. We have hundreds of full-time roles available, however, some prefer part-time for the flexibility or other personal reasons.”
Senator Bernie Sanders, a vocal critic of Amazon and its CEO Jeff Bezos, announced on Friday he will be introducing legislation to the US Senate on September 5 that would impose a 100% tax on companies with more than 500 employees and workers employees on public assistance, according to the Washington Post . For example, if an employee draws $100 from food stamps, that money would be taxed from that individual’s employer.
More than $150 billion in federal funds goes to pay low wage workers in the form of federal assistance. Sanders’ move is designed to encourage employers to pay more, what he and proponents call a “living wage.”
Amazon defended its warehouse employee pay in a statement to Business Insider.
“We encourage anyone to compare our pay and benefits to other retailers. Amazon is proud to have created over 130,000 new jobs last year alone. These are good jobs with highly competitive pay and full benefits. In the U.S., the average hourly wage for a full-time associate in our fulfillment centers, including cash, stock, and incentive bonuses, is over $15/hour before overtime,” according to an Amazon spokesperson.
“That’s in addition to our full benefits package that includes health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, generous parental leave, and skills training for in-demand jobs through our Career Choice program, which has over 16,000 participants.”

For Tips And Tips On The Vitamins You Need, Read This

People look at nutrition labels all the time. However, people don’t really understand what nutrients they need. The following paragraphs have helpful advice to help you learn all this to take better care of your body.

Many people who are in need of supplemental vitamins and minerals simply struggle physically with swallowing the pills as they can be large and, in all honesty, horrible tasting. Try drinking water that has vitamins and minerals includes with some sort of fruit taste added. This allows you to get some of the vitamins you require as well as adding to your daily water intake.

Two of the best sources for vitamin D are exposure to the sun and milk. If you are not a big milk drinker or do not spend a lot of time in the sun, you should take a supplement with vitamin D. Vitamin D protects your bones and keeps them from becoming brittle.

Iron is great for maintenance of red blood cells. Red blood cells are what carry oxygen around your body. Women need more iron than men, and often vitamin supplements that are specifically for women will have extra iron. Should you have difficulty with breathing or feel exhausted, you may have an iron deficiency.

Try adding more magnesium, Omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D to your diet if you are feeling sad. A deficiency in any of these may actually lead to depression. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to support brain health, while magnesium can help your body and mind calm down and relax.

Sometimes, our financial state keeps us from eating properly. Learn all you can about vitamins and minerals, and use the knowledge to boost your immune system and start leading a better life.

You have worked hard to lose weight but you seem to have hit a wall with weight loss and burning fat. Try adding different vitamins and minerals to your low fat diet to break on through. Your body has probably consumed the vitamins and minerals stored in the body that aides in promoting weight loss and it simply needs more than you are consuming in your diet to jump start the old engine.

Although it is possible to purchase vitamin and mineral supplements in many types of retail stores, some of the best deals can be found at online sites. Considering Using Vitamins? Read This Article Now!

Are you thinking about taking vitamins and minerals because you see other doing it and you aren’t sure which ones are right for you? That is usually the case with most people because they aren’t educated on this topic. Below there are several great tips that will get you up to speed on the subject of vitamins and minerals, so keep reading.

If you are lacking in the vitamin department, you should consider changing your diet. While many people take this as a sign that they need to run to the store and buy a supplement, most of the nutrients you need can be found in food. Do a little research in order to figure out what changes need to be made.

If you are lacking a particular vitamin, it is probably best for you to add that to your diet instead of taking a multivitamin. While there are many different vitamins and minerals in these pills, most of the time the level of particular vitamins is not as high as we need. Buying a single vitamin would be more effective.

Two of the best sources for vitamin D are exposure to the sun and milk. If you are not a big milk drinker or do not spend a lot of time in the sun, you should take a supplement with vitamin D. Vitamin D protects your bones and keeps them from becoming brittle.

Track the number of vitamins and minerals you take. If you’re a person that takes a lot of supplements, you could be getting too much of certain vitamins or minerals. This is usually the case with fat-soluble vitamins like K, D, A, and E. If the risks worry you or if you take prescriptions, you should talk to a physician.

You can find a large amount of vitamin C in many different fruits and vegetables too. Supplements are perfect for those who do not receive the recommended daily allowance in their food. Vitamin C can help with everything from skin infections to the common cold. Studies also show that vitamin C might help people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and ADHD.
